Current Openings

This is a full-time on-site role for a Childcare Director at Burhan Academy in Elgin, IL. The Childcare Director will oversee the daily operations of the childcare facility, manage staff, develop and implement programs, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children.

Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Experience in childcare management or early childhood education

  • Knowledge of state regulations and licensing requirements for childcare facilities

  • Ability to collaborate with parents, staff, and external partners

  • Organizational and administrative skills

  • Passion for working with children and creating a positive learning environment

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)

  • Childcare Director Training and license required

Responsibilities
  • Design and teach lessons across various subjects.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that integrate US Core Curriculum Standards with Islamic principles.
  • Develop teaching contents as per school’s guidelines.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student development.
  • Evaluate students and develop personalized teaching strategies based on their learning pace.
  • Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and grade student work.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring as needed.
  • Manage classroom behavior using approved disciplinary methods.
  • Create instructional resources and projects to support lesson plans and lectures.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities.

  • Set and meet course and school-wide performance goals for students.

Professional Growth and Development

  • Stay informed on current educational topics and integrate various curriculum resources into teaching.
Qualifications
  • Teaching certificate or a degree in education.
  • Montessori or ECE certification preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum and content development.
  • Familiarity with US Core Curriculum Standards and Islamic curriculum integration.
  • Proficient knowledge of Makharij and Tajweed, with the ability to teach these to students.
  • Ability to teach basic Islamic curriculum.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related subject from an accredited university.
  • Illinois teaching certificate.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory for hiring.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with US Core Curriculum Standards and Islamization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Islamic schools is a plus.
